Strawberry Festival, Craft Fair and Living History Day at Norland's

 Strawberry Festival, Craft Fair, and Living History Day at the Norlands in Livermore on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 10am-4pm.  Featuring a large craft and artisans fair, hayrides, blacksmithing demonstrations, mansion tours, storytelling, one-room schoolhouse, old-time games, music and homemade strawberry shortcake ($4). Special living history presentations include: "What Remains” Civil War Civilian Soldier’s Aide Society Re-enactors (ongoing), Meet the 19th Century “Bradford Family” in the Farmer’s Cottage (ongoing), "Miss Dr. Lucy and Maine’s Pioneering Female Physicians, 1850s-1920” an illustrated talk by author Annette Dorey (11:30am), “Health, Sanitation, and Deadly Diseases” a humorous presentation in 19th-century character by Willi Irish (1pm), “The Remarkable Washburns of Livermore” by historian Kerck Kelsey, Washburn descendant (2pm), and an organ concert of 19th-century tunes by musician Jerry Ellis (3pm). Fun for the entire family! Spend the day! The Jay/Livermore Falls Lions Club will have lunch items for sale, or bring a picnic and enjoy the history and beautiful grounds at the 445-acre Washburn estate. $5 general admission; free for ages 5 and under. 290 Norlands Road in Livermore.
